There’s a lot to consider when it comes to searching for a birth control method that is right for you. Here are some answers to the most common questions we get about the pill. 

Q: What is the birth control pill? 

A: Birth control pills are a kind of medicine with hormones. Birth control pills come in a pack, and you take 1 pill every day. 

Q: How do birth control pills prevent pregnancy? 

A: The birth control pill works by stopping sperm from joining with an egg (AKA fertilization). 

Q: Does the pill protect against STDs? 

A: Nope. The pill is really good at preventing pregnancy, but it won’t protect you from sexually transmitted infections.
